Anemones

The summer herbaceous border just wouldn't be complete without the addition of the wonderful Anemone. This is one of my favourite plants at this time of year due to its bold flowerheads held aloft dense lush foliage.
Anemones come in many forms and here on the nursery, we mainly stock Anemone x hybrida varieties. As a rule, these are vigourous, erect, woody-based perennials with palmate, toothed mid green leaves. Plants grow from 1.2m to 1.5m in height with an indefinate spread. Plant in moist, fertile, humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade.
Pictured here is Anemone x hybrida Serenade which has these beautiful large pink flowers with an eyecatching yellow centre. For information on the full range, please contact nsy@stewarts.co.uk
